Historia

The famous around the world rally in electric cars. After 2012 and 2016 the third edition is in preparation including emission free overseas transport.

The story begun with two french guys, which started for the first circumnavigation of the world in a 100 % electric Citroen in February 2012. (Info: www.electric-odyssey.com)

The plans of Rafael de Mestre to be the first one were crossed so he started without any preparation on May 11th 2012 in Barcelona trying to overtake them with his Tesla Roadster #507 before they reach their arrival point Strasbourg ... and he won in world record time.

Meanwhile after finishing 2016 the second chapter of 80edays with 11 international teams the preparations for the third around the world in 2020 are started to again promote clean technology all over the world showing the state of the art transport technology under all street conditions and nations of the nothern hemisphere.

2020 the flight over the ocean won't be allowed anymore even if it was compensated in 2016 by a tree plant project in Nicaragua. The organizers are planning to ship the cars emission free overseas ... with sailing ships, a huge challenge where all money and time is invested to get a solution in time to show that there is no drop of gas needed to be burned to get anything transported around the world.
