Sobre Nosotros Overwinteren! Historia Our appartements are located directly at the beach of the friendly village of Barbate in the Costa del Luz area of southern Spain. Costa del Luz or Coast of Light is named thus because of its many hours of sunshine. The coastline strethess from Portugal in the west to Gibraltar in the east. Barbate is a small fishermans village in the province of Cadiz, with about 20.000 inhabitants. The Costa de la Luz (Coast of light) stretches along the sea for 300 kilometres from Ayamonte at the border with Portugal to Punta de Tarifa at the Street of Gibraltar. With exception of a few rocky area's, the coastline is formed by long sandy beaches, surrounded with pinewoods. The salty wetlands at the river mouth's are unspoiled and unchanged for centuries.
