Historia Bodegas Vegalfaro is situated inland within the province of Valencia, the estate sited on the high plain of Utiel and Requena; a distance of 70km from the Mediterranean at an altitude of 700m above sea level. The vineyards lie close to the archaeological site of Las Pilillas, an historical expanse where the Iberians cultivated vines and produced wines 3000 B.C . After a long career as professional viticulturists Andrés Valiente and his son Rodolfo formed Viñedos & Bodegas Vegalfaro in 1999. Since that time they have produced singular organic wines in the 60 hectares of vineyard surrounded by almond and olive trees, aromatic plants set amidst pine forest.
