The Etxepare Basque Institute’s mission is to disseminate the Basque language and culture throughout the world. www.etxepare.eus/en/

Historia
The Etxepare Basque Institute is a public body created by the Basque Government. The institute owes its name to Bernart Etxepare, author of the first book written in Basque language, Linguae Vasconum Primitiae (1545).

Etxepare opened its doors to the public at the Prim Street offices in Donostia-San Sebastián; on September 2015 the Etxepare Basque Institute moved to its Permanent Headquarters, located at the Tabakalera building, in the same city.

The institute aims to spread the Basque language and culture worldwide. Etxepare works as the ambassador for the Basque  culture, committed to promoting the Euskara and the Basque creation. With that goal in mind, the institute fosters activities and programs for the promotion of all artistic disciplines -literature, theatre, dance, film, music, plastic and visual arts…- and works together with international organizations and agents. Etxepare is also responsible for a net of Basque Language and Culture lectureships and chairs in prestigious international universities, bringing the Basque Studies abroad.

Nuestro fin es promover y dar a conocer internacionalmente el euskera, la cultura y la creación vascas, y construir relaciones duraderas con otros países y culturas a través de ellas. Para ello fomentamos actividades artísticas de calidad, y apoyamos la movilidad de creadores/as, artistas y profesionales de los sectores culturales, así como la enseñanza del euskera y de la cultura vasca. Fomentamos, asimismo, la colaboración con agentes internacionales tanto en el ámbito cultural como en el académico. En todo ello trabajamos en estrecha colaboración con las delegaciones de Euskadi en el exterior."
