Historia

This mountain garden in the high Alpujarras of Granada is a delight to the eye of the beholder. In this remarkable landscape a garden of beauty and tranquility has been created from the ruins of an abandoned farm, where in every direction the visitor is greeted with surprise and spectacle, from the plants themselves to the magnificent views all around. The garden is arranged over four long south facing terraces that are the vestige of the agricultural heritage of this special region. The area is divided into numerous distinctive zones, with planting styles ranging from the very formal to the wilderness of the surrounding terrain. The accent is on flowering perennials against a backdrop of exotic shrubs and trees.

The Alpujarras is well known as an area of outstanding beauty, both for its staggering landscape with steep river worn valleys, and for its characteristic moorish villages, timeless and unchanged, where small scale cultivation of the land is still a way of life.

Ideal venue to visit, for painting and photography groups, music, theatre and food events.

We are established as a non profit making organisation and as such we ask that visitors leave a donation for the further development of this garden project.
