Historia

Based in the Andalusian town of Órgiva, Kutubía is a multilingual focal point for presenting contemporary Andalusian Islamic culture, based upon knowledge, compassion, tolerance, beauty and creativity.

We are a collaborative association, apolitical, and locally funded, promoting courteous dialogue among sympathetic people of all backgrounds. Our founding members are experienced in book design, translation, scholarly research, multimedia production, fine art and music. Through a combined efort we seek to share some of what our endeavours have yielded.

Kutubía seeks to provide a comfortable ambiance for sincere people who appreciate or are curious to explore the local Islamic culture. Our aim is to present to the community and visitors to the Alpujarras region lectures, workshops, presentations of works such as newly released books, artwork, films, and music.
