Los Alcazares Murcia is a beautiful small town located in the province of Murcia in the Costa Calida region of Spain. Murcia is considered the 11th largest metropolitan area in Spain and is treated as one of the best tourist destinations in the world. People from all corners of the globe flock to the coastal region of this area during the tourist season in Spain. The town of Los Alcazares was granted municipal autonomy in 1983 and has a population of over 20,000, which would rise to over 125,000 during the peak tourist summer holidays in Spain.

Los Alcazares Murcia is a popular destination for windsurfing, kiteboarding, sailing and other water sports. Locals and tourists swarm the sandy beaches of this exotic city during summer holidays to participate in these water sports. It is really a mesmerizing scene that could be seen along all the beach strips of this beautiful city. The Los Alcazares beach management team holds an annual Blue Flag Award ceremony in order to recognize the maintenance and cleanliness of the beach strips along the city. Los Alcazares plays host to numerous festivals and fiestas throughout the year. A large Medieval market is being held during the last week of March and August every year. "La Huerta" is another important festival held each year in this small city. The famous film "Garden of Eden" was mostly filmed in this beautiful location. Los Alcazares is really a Garden of Eden on earth.

The Romans were occupying Los Alcazares during the era of 210 B.C. They loved this city for all the salt properties located along the beach strips. They setup a salt meat and fishing industry, and also built the first thermal baths and spas in the area. The 6th century saw the Arabs building their palaces in this area because of all the old Roman spas located here. The year 1245 saw the Christians who were led by Fernando III of Castilla arriving and forcing the Arabs to flee from the area.

Los Alcazares has some of the exotic beaches in the Murcian region. The Mar Menor beach strip stretches from Los Alcazares to San Javier with a surface area of close upon 170 Km2. It has a coastal length of nearly 70 Km and about 7 m depth of clear and warm water. It is considered the "largest natural swimming pool in the world" by famous swimmers in the world. The city is a well known maritime resort for families from Murcia during weekends.

Los Alcazares has some of the best golf courses in close proximity. The Mar Menor Golf and Spa Resort is a five-star international resort in Los Alcazares. Roda Golf with 18-holes is considered another one of the most popular in this regard. All in all, Los Alcazares Murcia is considered one of the greatest vacation destinations on earth.
