Welcome to Luz y Paz. Before our story, we invite you to check the wonderful 5* reviews our guests wrote about our place, of which we are very proud. A bottle of organic wine is already waiting for you, as well as dried and fresh fruits from our orchard.

Since a couple of months we have started to share our paradise in the Andalucian mountains. The property has 2 bedrooms and can accomodate up to 6 people. It borders a small river with lots of trees around and you can enjoy the sound of water quietly flowing down the hill.
The house is a 108 m2, complete with everything you need:
- Kitchen, with all amenities
- You find a choice of homemade dried fruits from our trees: figs, raisins, apples and almonds from October on. If in season.
- Wood burner and an extra heater for the few cold days.
- Large bathroom with bathtub, with soap and shampoo.
- A couple of different terraces, overlooking the mountains and the valley.
- There are different fruit trees on the premises: black fig, yellow fig, lemon, plum, apple, cherry, pear, grape, khaki, apricot, almond, walnut and olive. Of course you can enjoy them too.
- 4 Terraces/meadows, all with a different view. We live on one, the guesthouse is on one (the best view of all terraces) and the rest is just trees, wild flowers, and vegetables.
Further, lots of walking and biking possibilities or watch the 365 days a year snowy tops of the Sierra Nevada on one side and even the tops of the mountains on the other side of the sea in Africa!
I live in one of the terraces, which is far enough from the guesthouse for you to enjoy your privacy, but close enough for any questions or a small talk.
We have maps and books about the area and will be happy to help with any information needed.

This area of the Alpujarras sees less tourists than the coast. Mainly nature lovers, hikers and mountain bikers love to visit. This area is still traditional with it's small white villages and nice genuine spanish people.
There are great walking routes. One of them: the famous GR7 passes at just a step from the property.
How to reach our place:
There are buses to Bérchules and Alcútar from Malaga, Granada and Almería. From Alcútar it is a 500 meters walk down to our place or you can be picked up by us.
By car you can reach the house coming up from Cádiar. The last part of the road is a dirt road and you need to drive carefully. Guests come by normal car but a 4-wheel drive would be more comfortable.
You can also come down from Bérchules/Alcútar and leave your car close to the house and walk 10 minutes down.
From Cádiar you can walk up in half an hour. We can also pick you up by car if you desire.
The beautiful ancient, yet vivid, city of Granada is just 100 km away. Don't miss a visit to the world famous Alhambra!
Malaga is 200 km and Sevilla 300 km. All within reach. Even Morocco is only a 3 hours drive, with a short crossover...
