Portixol is a former fishing village, one of several suburbs of Palma that have been rejuvenated for both locals and tourists. Its sea front properties, former fisherman’s cottages, have become highly sought after.

Historia

Speak with anyone who lives in Portixol and you are likely to have to listen for quite a while about how wonderful it is. This former fishing village has enjoyed significant investment and improvements over the years, to become one of Palma’s coolest hang-outs and most sought after suburbs. Its proximity to the city centre and airport make it a prime location and its mix of smart restaurants and bohemian bars make it a hot-spot for visitors and residents alike.

Portixol lies on the outskirts of Palma, but is actually only a couple of kilometres from the cathedral, easy to walk or cycle using the dedicated traffic-free promenade. This boardwalk really is the heart of this community and gives the area a free spirited atmosphere as inline-skaters weave between dog walkers and cyclists watched by the drinkers and diners who cram the busy frontline of bars and restaurants.

Portixol is on the coast so there are several beaches to choose from.
