The base was demilitarised in the early 1990s and became a fully civilian airport administered by AENA, the Spanish airports authority.Development since the 2000sThe airport is a Ryanair base since October 2008 although for the winter 2009–2010 season Ryanair reduced the number of flights and destinations from Reus by a substantial amount.
