Historia

Safe Roads for Safe Life (SARSAL) with the cooperation of Spanish Community, and government institutes is working very actively since March 2008. We are helping the Spanish government and police department as well as all Road Safety Stake holders in reducing the Road accidents and to saving life of youngsters.

Misión

Road Traffic accidents result in a high number of victims every year, the lives of whom can be seriously affected by the consequences. This require the protection and support of the people affected, both direct victims and relatives. So, after issuance of Road Safety Strategy by the Directorate General of Traffic Spain following is the mission of Safe Roads for Safe life (Sarsal), European Road Safety Association :-
1. To reduce the accident rate among the risk groups - children, young people, elderly and people with reduced mobility.
2. To give awareness for promotion of walking and cycling.
3. To help for participation of public, private and social agents to control the accident.
4. To improve knowledge about the accident rate among the elderly and their mobility.
5. To promote the knowledge in public concerning the accident rate of pedestrians and their mobility and promote the use of the bicycle as an efficient mod of transport. Similarly to improve the skills and attitudes of cycles ts and other users.
6. To increase knowledge concerning accident rate of motorcyclists and their mobility.
7. To Promote civic, responsible and safe behavior amongst road users.Similarly to inform and involve society in its responsibility to improve road safety.
8. To support those affected by traffic accidents.
9. To focus over the education and training for children, young people, newly qualified drivers, cyclists and motorcyclists.
10. To re educate with new road safety techniques to those drivers who had obtained licence 15 years back as their knowledge is required to updated with the modern techniques.
11. To run information and awareness campaigns on speed as a ris factor and similar campaigns about the risks of alcohol and toxic drugs on driving and promoting these campaigns at European level.
12. To run information and awareness on the correct use of child restraint systems.
13. To promote the celebration of the Worldwide Day of Traffic Accident Victims.
14. To cooperate with associations of victims in their road safety preventive programme.
15. To organize periodical exhibitions by inviting direct accident victims and their relatives to generate awareness process within the society about the bad impact of Road Traffic Accidents on Spain and European Society.
16. To distribute different material regarding Road Safety measures among the public so that a vast campaign of public awareness could be continued regularly.
17. To use Spanish electronic and print media as well as European media for the promotion of Road Safety Knowledge through debates by Professors of Road Safety Education.
