Historia

Diabetes is a growing pandemic. Approximately $1 in $10 health care dollars is attributed to this disease and 70% of those medical expenditures refer to hospital inpatient care, due to the treatment of complications related to the diabetes, and physician office visits.

Today, this chronic condition imposes an increasing economic burden on national health care systems worldwide. At SocialDiabetes we believe that we can change these numbers and ease the burden that diabetes imposes on all sectors of society.

With SocialDiabetes diabetes self-care technology becomes available to every patient, regardless of their device of choice, offering context and actionable information that allows them to manage their diabetes with a tool that is already part of every other activity they do in their life.

We want patients to gain autonomy and learn from the behavior of others. We want health care professionals to be able to track patients in real time and and prioritise care with secure and immediate data. Imagine a care system in which patients could actively engage in their own care in an easy and interactive way and health professionals could provide high quality precision care remotely.
