El Instituto Universitario de Investigación en Gestión Forestal Sostenible (iuFOR) es una unidad de investigación y desarrollo de carácter mixto entre el INIA y la Universidad de Valladolid.

Historia

The Sustainable Forest Management Research Institute is a unit of research and development of a joint between the CIFOR-INIA and the School of Agricultural Engineering of the University of Valladolid which is a forum for scientific and technical cooperation develops together and coordinated research, innovation, development, dissemination and technical advice. These are projected in the areas of assessment and conservation of forest resources, modeling and sustainable forest management, silviculture and forest management and biodiversity conservation.

Misión

The aims of the Institute for Research on Sustainable Forest Management are:
- Research, development and innovation in the areas identified by joint participation in projects and other initiatives.
- Technology transfer and training of research staff, including teaching and joint publications.
- Development of coordinated efforts of silvicultural assessment, development of methodologies for inventory and modeling, forest management methods and assessment of forest production, in order to encourage the development of these activities.
