A collaborative project aiming to support people living abroad, address mental health and interculturality by exploring its related challenges and opportunities, through therapeutic groups, workshops, and individual psychotherapy sessions.

Laura and Kirsty are Mental Health Professionals and migrants living in Madrid. This projects is a product of their individual motivation as women who have experienced migration and its challenges. Their experience has enabled them to be attunned and sensitive to the interplay of the transcultural, community and individual variables in the process of adaptation to another country. From this perspective they want to put their knowledge and expertise at the service of those who might find it useful.
Laura is a bilingual qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist, originally from Venezuela were she did her Clinical Psychology training and residency, working with at risk population and mentally ill patients and their families at the hospital, and also holding her private practice at Residencia Humana in Caracas. She studied and lived in France, Boston, and London, were she studied psychotherapy at the Tavistock Clinic and gained work experience at an Eating Disorders Unit for children and adolescents.
Laura currently offers psychotherapy sessions and psychological assessment in her Private Practice in Madrid, in English and Spanish, were she works with a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals.
Kirsty is a Mental Health Social Worker from the UK, she has extensive experience of working and supporting people affected by a variety of mental health issues particularly those affected by psychosis and their families as well as in crisis and substance use services. Her work has focused on enabling people to overcome and better understand some of the issues they face using a holistic approach that values support networks and practical and psychological solutions.
Kirsty and Laura have decided to join forces and integrate their professional and migration experience to bring you tools, support; one to one sessions; workshops and therapeutic groups. These aim to empower you; enrich your self knowledge, alleviate the stress and adaptation to novelty, gain understanding in relation to transcultural misinterpretations, and offer treatment for mental health issues for expats, english speaking and bicultural families and couples living in Madrid.
This project will start offering activities, and giving you tools and providing support so that you can make this the most self transforming and enriching experience it can be!
